Our love story started about a decade ago…

The path from friends to forever has been such an amazing journey and it’s one that’s still in its early chapters. Being a couple twenty-somethings looking for steady jobs in Portland brought us both to Airbnb. After a few years of being work acquaintances and office crushes, we made the long-awaited jump from friends to something more in 2019, and haven’t looked back since. 2 apartments, 1 house, 1 global pandemic, and 10+ countries later, we’ve done so much and made countless memories doing it. 

Although we cherish our time at home watching reality television and hanging with our cats, we’ve been lucky enough to see so much of the world and experience so much of it together. With Samantha’s unworldly ability to create an amazingly curated itinerary and Brett’s innate ability to get up on the first alarm, get to the airport (too) early, and make sure we fit a little R&R time into every vacation, we’re truly a perfect match. This has been a metaphor for every other aspect of our life together: The perfect blend of “opposites attract” and “two peas in a pod”. It turns out being in love with your best friend is an amazing thing…

Our trip to South Korea and Japan last October was capped off with an engagement, tucked in the mountains a couple hours outside Tokyo. What Brett thought would be a two hour dinner with a seamless proposal turned into a four hour dinner and an engagement just before midnight. Phew! 

Being married is just the beginning for us, and celebrating the official joining of our lives with the people we love is something we will cherish forever. Can’t wait to see you in October!
